Pebblebed vineyards are based near Exeter and have always been a community-focused enterprise, while producing award-winning wines.

Pebblebed, Geoff Bowen and Darts Farm

Pebblebed was founded by Geoff Bowen, in 1999 as a sustainable, small vineyard just over the hedge from Darts Farm in Devon.

Geoff was a well-loved and charismatic man, who sadly passed a few years ago, but wished for Pebblebed’s legacy to continue as part of the Darts Farm family.

The day-to-day running of the 22 acre vineyard and making of the wine continues under the expert hands of head wine maker, Alex, who has been part of the Pebblebed team for many years.

Pebblebed and the community

There is a lot of community involvement in the vineyards and founder Geoff was often heard to say that his aim was to produce the UK equivalent of a "vin de pays"; wines from Pebblebed are however respected for their quality and have won a number of awards.

The annual community harvest is a joyous affair, legendary in the area and beyond.
