Philip George was born on a rubber estate in Malaysia, educated in England, and now lives in the mountains of Tuscany with a Labrador-shaped shadow and a thirst for good stories—and good wine. Over the past seven decades, he’s worn many hats: solicitor, sportsman, traveller, cultural observer, and most recently, full-time writer and vineyard roamer.

After a long legal career in England, where he practised as a solicitor and dabbled in diplomacy, Philip now offers his legal mind pro bono while following his heart across Europe in a VW California Ocean. Along the way, he visits vineyards, chats with winemakers, samples the local magic in a glass, and writes about the intersection of land, labour, and love that goes into every bottle.

His global travels have taken him from Buenos Aires to Borneo, but he’s happiest with a pen in one hand and a glass of Montepulciano in the other. He is the author of two books—Racket Boy, a memoir of sport, identity, and rebellion, and Ruta 40 at 72, a lyrical road story tracing his solo journey down Argentina’s spine.
